Choosing a Teen's First Car
What cars should teens drive? Although your teen may not agree, the best cars for teens to drive are BIG and BORING. When choosing a car for your teen driver, look for these characteristics:
- Mid-size to large — no compacts, subcompacts, pickups or SUVs
- Recently manufactured
- Not overly "sporty"
- Anti-lock brakes (ABS)
- Electronic stability control (ESC)
- Advanced airbags with more sophisticated sensors
- Side curtain airbags
