Teens need more sleep than adults. And growing up in today’s world makes getting enough rest even harder.
Why Teens Are Getting Less Sleep:
- Earlier school start times
- More evening social opportunities
- Technology in the bedroom – cell phones, Internet, music players and television
- Relaxed parental rules
How does lack of sleep affect teen driving? It puts teens at a higher risk for car crashes.
Lack of sleep is dangerous for all drivers. It is even more dangerous for teens – especially when combined with teen inexperience, risk-taking, poor problem-solving and difficulty with distance, location and speed.
